The original sea cadet unit in Larne was named T.S.Glory.

HMS Glory was constructed in Belfast in Harland & Wolff shipyard.

At the time of the launch the Commanding Officer , Captain Buzzard entertained the Sea Cadet Unit in the wardroom. The Japanese surrender document at the end of the war was signed on board HMS Glory and a copy of this document was presented to  T.S.Glory unit C.O. Lt Sandford.

 

T.S.ABERCORN

In September 1987 T.S.Abercorn started in the Scout Hall in Curran Road.

On th 24th March 1988 saw the formal re-establishment of the Unit in the Dixon Hall in Drains Bay under the command of Lt Winston Clements an ex RN Officer - The new unit had 25 cadets

 

Two of the original Cadets of T.S.Glory after serving in the Royal Navy were part of the team that was instrumental in setting up the reformed Larne Sea Cadets T.S.Abercorn and they remained part of the management committee for a number of years.
